Georgia College's Student Government Association oversees a diverse range of committees dedicated to identifying challenges and implementing solutions to address the needs of the student body.

Standing Committees
Appropriations
The Appropriations Committee deals with bills referred to them by the Senate. They consider, review and recommend allocations on senatorial bills to be approved by a vote of the full Senate. This committee is chaired by a senator appointed by the SGA President.
Diversity & Inclusion
The Diversity and Inclusion Committee is committed to representing all students on campus and promoting an inclusive environment on campus. They work closely with the HUB and the Office of Inclusion and Belonging, as well as strive to institute collaboration between all representative student organizations. The committee is chaired by a senator appointed by the SGA President.
Senate Rules & Oversight
The Senate Rules & Oversight Committee deals with the internal workings of the Student Government as well as assisting with public relations and elections. The committee also oversees the approval process of Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus.
Student Travel Fund
The Student Travel Fund Committee provides limited financial support to students who are presenting scholarly research or a project presentation at an academic conference or workshop. This committee is chaired by the SGA Treasurer.

University Student Affairs
The University Student Affairs Committee deals primarily with matters and services provided by the Department of Auxiliary Services. They work closely with the department to help determine business hours of on-campus dining facilities, parking and student concerns among other tasks. This committee is chaired by a senator appointed by the SGA President.

The Public Safety & Wellness Committee addresses issues related to campus safety, mental health, and student wellness. This committee works closely with campus safety officials and wellness programs to develop initiatives and policies that ensure a secure and supportive environment for all students.
Retention
The Retention Committee focuses on identifying and addressing factors that impact student retention at Georgia College. By analyzing student feedback and collaborating with campus departments, the committee works to develop initiatives and policies aimed at improving the overall student experience. Their efforts ensure that students feel supported academically, socially, and personally, fostering a sense of belonging and commitment to the university community.

The University & Student Affairs Committee bridges the gap between the university, its students, and the local community by working on initiatives that enhance the quality of student life and foster mutual support. Through partnerships, events, and outreach, the committee strengthens relationships with the community while addressing academic support, extracurricular engagement, and campus resources. By collaborating with various departments, the committee ensures that students have access to opportunities and services that promote personal growth, professional development, and a vibrant campus experience.

The Campus Issues Committee is dedicated to identifying and addressing concerns voiced by the student body. Focused on improving the lives of Georgia College students, this committee gathers information on key issues and implements policies to create immediate and lasting solutions.
Sustainability & Infrastructure
The Sustainability & Infrastructure Committee focuses on improving campus infrastructure while advocating for environmentally sustainable practices. The committee collaborates with administration and student groups to implement projects that enhance the campus’s physical environment and sustainability efforts. Addresses concerns related to services provided by the university, such as housing, dining, and parking. By working closely with Auxiliary Services, the committee advocates for improvements to enhance students’ daily experiences on campus.
